I have a bone to pick with you. One of the biggest complaints I have had and have seen others having on this site for the longest time is the inability to change their username. To change from something embarrassing your middle school aged self thought was pure genius was such a huge hassle that for many people it simply wasn't worth it. Finally I see two users that I watch use the newly implemented feature to change their username.

Of course, I've disliked mine for a while, and have wanted to switch over to the one that I use on most websites now. But when I got to the page, I saw that deviantart is requiring PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP for this change.

It's not a terrible thing to want to make money, but on a feature that took way too long to impose and that ought to be pretty basic? That's underhanded and cheap. I am hoping it is only as a premium membership deal as they continue to implement it, as code monkeys do require payment to keep everything up to snuff. I am not unreasonable and know running a website costs some serious cash, especially when it's one this big. But SCREWING OVER your customers and loyal site goers is not the way to do that.

Other shady practices with proper censoring aside, this is just upsetting.

:icontheramblinggirl: That there would be my new account. Now, to explain.

I have been using this for a while and have planned for a few years to change accounts when I turned eighteen. I am still seventeen, but I made the account now for a few reasons.

Firstly, I wanted to make sure that name would not be taken! theramblinggirl is also my tumblr name and I want to turn it into my primary internet name. Besides that, I am sick of looking at my old name from the years of Narutardom. I have grown used to it, but I still feel the need for a change.

Second, I am now a college student and wish to be seen more seriously, even though this website is sort of... well... not that serious for the most part. In any case, I want to put my best work available on there, so I don't feel like I'm apologizing for every piece when I show other, more serious artists. There will still be a combination of writing and drawing and painting, etc, but it will be work I feel real pride in. It will be work that I feel is of the highest quality possible.

As for this account, I will still use it for sketches and less complete works and such. I will probably still use it for watching people and commenting, if only because I feel I am more recognizable this way.

In other words, this account will NOT be deleted or inactive, but my actual WORK will live on there. I'm still not sure if I'll ever update my stock account :iconsuperawesomestock: with Paris and London pictures, but I do hope I will get to that rather large task around December or January when I'm home for break.

And in other news... I could use some Halloween costume ideas? I've got a few but... IT HAS TO BE EPIC. I go to an art school where the Halloween's are Legen.... wait for it... DARY, so it has to be GOOD. No, it has to be SUPER AWESOME KICKASS GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY. Don't be afraid of the idea sounding ridiculous, because I want this thing to be at least eye-catching.

In any case, thanks for stopping by and listening to my rambling. Or reading it rather.

The Rules!

1. You must answer the 10 questions that whoever tagged you asked.
2. Then you must tag, at most, 10 people.
3. You must create 10 questions for those people to answer. They can be random questions, but they mustn't be anything too rude or too sexual. Don't copy anyone else's questions. They must be your own questions. You cannot answer your own questions.
4. Go to their page and tell them they have been tagged.

:bulletpink: What song are you listening to now?
Blinding by Florence & the Machine

:bulletpink: What are your religious views?
I'm agnostic! And pretty comfortable with myself being sort of undecided.

:bulletpink: What are your favorite traditional and/or digital art tools?
I like to just use pencil and paper, the simplest tools. But if I was good at it I'd probably use watercolors because they look so gorgeousssssssssss

:bulletpink: What anime are you watching now? (if any)
No. 6 and Blue Exorcist/Ao no Exorcist. They are AWESOME!

:bulletpink: Who is your favorite singer? (If you like Vocaloid, what is your favorite Vocaloid?)
For voice alone it would be Amy Lee (also because I apparently sound like her which is cool). For awesomeness factor it would be Chibi of The Birthday Massacre.
As for Vocaloid, either Luka or Len. I CAN'T DECIDE.

:bulletpink: What time do you usually wake up on weekends?
Noon or later unless I'm meeting friends in which case it's 9 or later.

:bulletpink: What is your favorite season?
WINTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I CAN'T WAITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

:bulletpink: Who is your favorite artist on DA?
Currently, it would be this hot piece of ass :iconshark-bomb:!!! That's my roomie and she's way better than me so give her pageviews and watches!

:bulletpink: List your three favorite manga series
I still love Ayashi no Ceres/Ceres: Celestial Legend just because it was the first manga I really discovered by myself. It's really nostalgic for me now, just remembering how I was reading them in 5th grade and up. Especially the parts where there are naked people. I laugh when I remember blushing from reading those.
Also, I LOVE Beauty Pop! I remember waiting rather impatiently for each update and crying at the ending. The story was wonderful and inspiring, but also ended perfectly. I'm pretty sad there's no more to look forward to, but I still love it. It's also what got me more into makeup and stuff, which is now really fun to do.
Third I have to put Otomen, which is one I'm following now. It's great because it addresses a lot of stuff related to gender and identity, which is SUCH a big issue these days. I also just wish there were really a straight man like Asuka out there because he'd be the perfect househusband/trophy husband for me. BWA HAHA! Plus he's just a genuinely sweet guy and truly loves his woman <3 AND HE COOKS. But, besides my fangirling, the characters just really show that feminine things aren't girls only and masculine things aren't guys only. We don't have to be limited by what parts we're born with.

:bulletpink: What truly drives you to draw?
More than anything it's my stories and characters. They run around in my brain all day and I just gotta let it all out. More than anything I want to be able to write their stories and animate some short ones as well. I think I would only be truly happy seeing that other people are both reading and appreciating my work. Or watching and appreciating it if it's animated.

Umm... I tag WHOMEVER wants to do this cause... idc.

AND THE QUESTIONS:
1. Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
2. If you could make one food and one drink (both unhealthy) healthy, which would you choose?
3. If you could get a roundtrip ticket anywhere with hotel expenses paid and some cash for food, where would you go?
4. You now have three free boat trip tickets. One is for you. The other two go to...?
5. If you could be the opposite sex for a day, what would you do and why? (You don't need a whole itinerary. Just pick one thing.)
6. You are now any rockstar you want to be (even if they're dead/old, you're them in their glory days). Who the hell are you?
7. What is your quest? (Life goal, ya know?)
8. What is your favorite color? (Visible light spectrum only please.)
9. What... No I'm not going to make that damn joke. What is your favorite quotable line from a movie?
10. What is your favorite kind of music? (Be as specific or unspecific as you'd like.)

Okay, and that's it then. Enjoy I guess!

(Also, I'm now moved into my dorm and I LOVE IT. Plus there was a night full of DANCING and FUN.)

Back home again

2 min read
I've returned from London safe and sound! If you heard about the riots, yes I am fine. I was born and raised in the city so I know how to handle craziness. Plus our hotel had excellent security.

I'd say the two best parts of London were the Eye and the Doctor Who Experience. I loved the art stuff, but I think Paris definitely had the art part down.

I was just glad for the plane ride home that I got to write a whole lot and I'm NEARLY done with the second book of my series. I'm getting so excited about it, but I know the editing process is going to be long and grueling.

I'm just doing a quick update here, but I'm also going to mention that on the 25th, I am leaving for MICA!!! I'm terrified, nervous, excited, and overjoyed at the thought of going to study at that school. It's such an awesome opportunity, I just can't wait. I can't wait to meet my roomies, get settled in, go to the Tiki party (lol), and just start studying what I really love. I just.... man. I can't believe that it's HERE. College! It's such a huge thing and it's NOW.

In any case, I'll try to see everyone I can before I head off to Baltimore. SO... that's it! See y'all later!
